Wright’s Market Relaunches Online Shopping Platform to Expand Digital Grocery Services

OPELIKA, Ala. — Wright’s Market has relaunched its e-commerce platform as part of an effort to expand online grocery services and rebuild digital sales, the company announced.

The family-owned grocery store said its new online shopping platform, dubbed “Wright’s Market eCommerce 2.0,” is powered by eGrowcery, a technology company that provides e-commerce solutions for independent grocers.

According to Wright’s Market, the upgraded platform is designed to improve the online shopping experience through enhanced features, including online SNAP purchasing capabilities, artificial intelligence-powered recipe suggestions with one-click cart additions, and customizable shopping tools.

Owner Jimmy Wright said the company selected eGrowcery because of its continued development of features tailored to independent grocery retailers and its focus on customer service.

The platform integrates with Wright’s Market’s point-of-sale system through Retail Data Systems, allowing for a more personalized and streamlined shopping experience for customers.

Wright’s Market also credited the National Grocers Association Foundation’s SNAP EBT Modernization Technical Assistance Center for assistance during the transition to online SNAP services.

Pat Hughes, chief executive officer of eGrowcery, said the partnership is intended to help independent grocers compete in the digital marketplace while maintaining strong community connections.

As part of the relaunch, Wright’s Market plans to focus on promotional campaigns, digital outreach efforts and customer feedback initiatives aimed at increasing online engagement. Company officials said they hope to grow e-commerce sales to approximately 6% of total business operations and expand further over time.

Wright’s Market said the updated platform is intended to combine modern digital convenience with the customer service approach that has long defined the Opelika-based grocery business.
