HEADLAND, Ala. A Headland man was arrested Thursday after investigators executed a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of suspected drugs and a firearm, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
Narcotics investigators with the Henry County Task Force executed the search warrant on July 9 at a residence in the 100 block of Tanglewood Drive.
Authorities arrested 49-year-old Christopher Lamar Baxter and charged him with three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana and certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm.
According to investigators, the search resulted in the seizure of approximately 2 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 710 grams of marijuana, 113 units of manufactured THC products and 136 grams of promethazine.
Baxter was transported to the Henry County Jail, where he was held on bonds totaling $75,000.
Sheriff Eric Blankenship praised the work of investigators and the agencies that assisted with the operation.
“I would like to thank the Henry County Task Force investigators for continuing to work diligently to keep the drugs off our streets,” Blankenship said. “I would also like to thank the members of the Henry County SWAT Team as well as members of the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Vice & Narcotics Division for their assistance today. This case is still under investigation and more charges may be forthcoming.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
