MOBILE, Ala. — Mobile Police are investigating a fatal shooting after officers found a man dead in a roadway Monday evening.
According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded at approximately 5:05 p.m. on June 15, 2026, to the intersection of Gaylark Road North and Elmwood Drive following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound in the roadway.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators have not released details regarding a suspect, motive, or circumstances leading up to the shooting.
The Mobile Police Department also noted that detectives continue to investigate a separate shooting on Sunnyvale Lane West. Officials said that case remains active and no additional information is being released at this time.
