MOBILE, Ala. — A Mobile man was arrested after police say he fatally shot his girlfriend inside an apartment late Wednesday night.
According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded at approximately 11:54 p.m. on June 17, 2026, to Hillcrest Estates Apartments, located at 4031 Airport Boulevard, following reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered a female victim inside an apartment suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
During the investigation, detectives determined that the victim had allegedly been shot by her boyfriend, 24-year-old Jakoby Lamar Fowler.
Police said Fowler remained at the scene following the shooting.
He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Metro Jail.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators have not disclosed additional details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or potential charges Fowler may face.
The case remains under active investigation.
