JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old man was found fatally shot Wednesday night at an apartment complex near the Pinson area.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 9:06 p.m. on June 17, 2026, to the Summit Ridge Apartments in the 100 block of Haversham Drive following reports of a person who had been shot.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a 19-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Center Point Fire & Rescue personnel also responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Authorities have not publicly released the victim’s identity.
Investigators have not announced any arrests or identified any suspects in the case.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.
