HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Two Huntsville men were arrested after a police investigation led to the seizure of alleged illegal gambling machines from a business on Memorial Parkway.
According to Huntsville Police, the investigation began after Huntsville Area Crime Stoppers received an anonymous tip regarding possible illegal gambling devices operating inside a business in the 10000 block of Memorial Parkway.
The tip was forwarded to Huntsville Police Department Community Relations Officers, who launched an investigation into the allegations.
During the investigation, officers gathered evidence that allegedly confirmed illegal gambling devices were present inside the business.
Based on the evidence collected, investigators obtained a search warrant authorizing the seizure of the machines.
On June 18, 2026, Community Relations Officers executed the warrant and recovered the devices from the business.
As a result of the investigation, 65-year-old Jody Michael Spears and 62-year-old Clayton Thad Hanna, both of Huntsville, were arrested.
Both men were charged with Promoting Gambling.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the number of machines seized or the name of the business involved.
The investigation remains ongoing.
