BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Birmingham police have arrested a fifth suspect in connection with a 2022 homicide that left one man dead and another person injured.
According to the Birmingham Police Department’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT), 21-year-old Damarion Owens of Midfield has been charged with Capital Murder and Attempted Murder in the case.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred on Dec. 26, 2022, near the intersection of 14th Avenue Northwest and Carson Road in Birmingham.
Police said Kamarian Morris was killed in the shooting, and a second victim was also injured.
On June 25, VCAT detectives located Owens in the 900 block of 17th Street Southwest, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Owens was booked into the Jefferson County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
Investigators said Owens is the fifth person arrested in connection with the homicide investigation.
The case remains under investigation.
